Kevin Costner's 1990 epic won a bundle of Oscars for a moving, engrossing story of a
white cavalry officer (Costner) who singlehandedly mans a post in the 1870 Dakotas
and becomes a part of the Lakota Sioux community who live nearby. A truly remarkable
picture and when one considers this as his directorial debut, WOW! If you love epic
tales that don't put you to sleep, this is the one. Simply and eloquently told, with
every element falling into place. This is what movie magic is all about! The brilliant
photography was shot at breathtaking South Dakota locations. The DTS soundtrack blows
Dolby away. You can definitely tell the difference! When it's raining, it sounds like
you are in the rain. In the prairie scenes you can hear the wind and wildlife around
you. The experience is awesome, a triumph in every respect!
